Dave Sonntag is the Founder and CEO of Decibel Events, a Washington, DC-based event production company he established in 2007. Over nearly two decades, Decibel has produced more than 2,500 events for clients including the U.S. Small Business Administration, the U.S. Department of Defense, the Library of Congress, T. Rowe Price, Amtrak, and Trane Technologies.

Decibel has been the producer of the Library of Congress National Book Festival, as well as the SBA’s National Small Business Week awards ceremony since 2009. The company holds a GSA Schedule contract, a credential rare among DC-area event firms, and has been recognized on the Washington Business Journal’s list of largest event production firms for seven consecutive years. Decibel’s work has earned Silver Anvil, Telly, and Peabody Awards.

Dave began his career in public relations at FleishmanHillard, where the discipline of message clarity and stakeholder management continues to shape how Decibel approaches federal and Fortune 500 work today. He leads a small, senior team whose work makes large-scale, complex events simple for the federal agencies and Fortune 500 companies that depend on them.
